Unfortunately there is no box for zero stars. The Pleasure Unit is run by the rudest, tightest, ugliest bunch of people you will ever meet. I would strongly recommend steering clear of this place. They are in it for themselves and do nothing for London's musical talent.

Find somewhere other than The Pleasure Unit to watch or play your music. Yeah, the place looks quite cool, but do not be deceived.

I tried The Pleasure Unit for the first time at the weekend on their monthly mod night Shake! The bar staff were friendly, the prices were fine, it was the clientele who were the problem. As a regular to such nights across town over many years I think this was the first time I have ever left early to go to somewhere more fun. A number of others left shortly before also looking bored. For a night billed as r'n'b, northern soul etc, I was shocked that no one was dancing. Also there was an unfriendly vibe coming from some of the crowd. Perhaps the groovy hipsters would like to remember that the scene is about music as well as posing.
I will try The Pleasure Unit on a different night as it was down to the crowd and not the venue.

The Pleasure Unit is a very nice little gigging venue. Lots of cool acts come and go and the crowd stays the same. The Pleasure Unit has a bit of a retro look happening and a nice Lambretta in the corner.

Nice vibe going on at The Pleasure Unit, the decor is a bit retro and pretty funky. There are comfy sofas to sit and chill out on with one of the cocktails.
I really like The Pleaseure Unit, it is a cool little bar.
