Whats On
The Scoop Theatre returns for another season of dramatics and theatrics on South Bank, presenting exclusive open air productions for Londoners to enjoy. Expect balmy summer evenings of live theatre in July, August and September 2008.

Free theatre at The Scoop
Free performances will be taking place at The Scoop from the end of July, throughout August and into September 2008, continuing a season of free entertainment at the famous London amphitheatre. Film screenings and live music have already hit The Scoop this year, and the theatre season is expected to be just as popular; a definite highlight on London’s theatre calendar.

Exclusive theatre
An new programme of live theatre features a showing of a new version Blood Wedding by Ted Hughes and a different take on Little Red Riding Hood in Petite Rouge. Retelling the Spanish tale by Frederico Garica Lorca, Blood Wedding is a passionate and tragic account of a woman who plans to run away with her lover on the day of her wedding. A new lively family musical version of the fairytale, Petite Rouge is based on Mike Artell's best selling children's book that brings the story of Little Red to the swamps of Louisiana, offering a unique family treat.

Fun and festivities at South Bank
The Scoop amphitheatre will be alive with festivities throughout the theatre season, with regular performances of the two shows. The crowds will be out in force to enjoy live theatre in a lively, upbeat atmosphere, bringing the magic of the stage out into the open.

New for 2008
Whether you’re an avid theatre fan or not you can enjoy a new outdoor theatre experience this summer, exclusive to The Scoop. Crowds of people will be out to enjoy live performances at what promises to be an animated series of theatre shows.

Performances of Blood Wedding and Petite Red take place at The Scoop, South Bank, from Thursday 31st July to Sunday 7th September 2008. The Scoop Theatre is free to attend.

Blood Wedding shows take place at 8pm, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until the 7th September 2008.
