Set in a breathtaking eight-storey atrium, the Winter Garden Restaurant exudes elegance and glamour in the heart of London.

The Venue
From the outside you would never suspect that The Landmark London Hotel boasts such a stunning heart of glass – a vast atrium with tropical palm trees and classic decor. As you enter The Landmark, the hotel opens up to reveal a beautiful, awe inspiring space, which is equally as impressive during the evening as it is throughout the day. Both elegant and sophisticated, The Winter Garden Restaurant provides a complete five-star experience, combining an exclusive atmosphere with delectable Modern European cuisine and professional service.

The Atmosphere
Whilst formal and elegant, the atmosphere is also friendly and relaxed. Diners will experience the comforting sounds of conversation combined with the soft tinkle of piano playing – a perfect environment for a romantic meal or special celebration. The staff at The Winter Garden are friendly and informative, and will ensure that guests are made to feel welcome and un-hurried throughout.

The Food
You can book a table at The Winter Garden for breakfast, lunch and dinner, and the breakfast menu includes a full English for £28, a continental breakfast at £20 and an a la carte menu from £11.50, which features dishes such as soft boiled duck egg and ciabatta soldiers and French toast with apple and sultana compote and marscapone. The lunch menu costs £35 for three courses whilst the dinner menu is a la carte and ranges from about £23 to £38 for mains.

A fresh basket of home-baked breads is simply irresistible and is accompanied with creamy butter – an ideal start to any dish. The organic smoked Scottish salmon with lemon blinis makes a great fresh-tasting starter, and is complimented with a dot of creme fraiche and a squeeze of zesty lemon. The roasted hand-dived scallops with saffron risotto and shellfish foam really stand out, with succulent scallops carefully placed upon a bed of creamy and subtly favoured risotto – divine. Diners are then treated to an amuse bouche of creamy white bean soup, topped with fragrant white truffle oil – a little dish, packing a lot of flavour.

For mains there is a good range of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes available. The slightly salted pan fried sea bass comes with delicately flavoured baby spinach, a rich and creamy Jerusalem artichoke puree and zesty ginger foam, which cuts through the delicate flavours of the meal creating a well-balanced and flavoursome dish. The Gloucester Old Spot pork belly is both succulent and crunchy with tender crackling and is accompanied with smooth mustard mashed potato, sauteed red cabbage and a sweet cider sauce.

Those with a sweet tooth should opt for the dessert tasting plate (£16.95 for two) which includes: a subtly flavoured vanilla creme brulee with a satisfying sugar top; zingy mint chocolate chip baked Alaska, a creamy dish with a bitter chocolate centre; buttery apple crumble with a cider sorbet that gives the dessert a defined edge; liquorice poached pear with clotted cream and liquorice wafers, unusual flavours that work magically together creating a sweet and fruity dessert; and a chocolate fondant with hazelnut ice cream, which simply melts in the mouth with bitter chocolate and sweet nutty flavours. After the meal, try the fresh filter coffee or fresh mint tea with a selection of handmade chocolates – a perfect end to a perfect meal.

The Drink
As expected The Winter Garden Restaurant provides guests with a large choice of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. There is a large wine list (from around £25 a bottle upwards) and a range of bottled beers and spirits available. The house white wine is a Pinot Grigio, for £25 a bottle and £8.50 a glass; it makes an excellent accompaniment to fish and pasta dishes and is light and easy to drink.

The Last Word
For a truly sophisticated experience, dine at The Winter Garden. Impeccable service, a breathtaking atrium setting and unforgettable food - this restaurant offers everything and more.
