Poor Management, poor customer service!!!! Staff are rude; unhelpful, problems (such as those already detailed) are resolved too slowly. There is also no communication with members about things such as class timetables/changes and no way for members to provide feedback - no names, job titles, email addresses are given out so there is no way to speak to anyone. On a recent visit I was told to leave a message - on a torn-off piece of paper from a note pad. That was the only way I could communicate with a membership manager. Revolting.

Nice gym, shame about the management. Be very careful about joining this gym. The reception don't know what they are doing half the time so if you have any questions about your membership, make sure you double check as you will end up out of pocket. Trainers are nice, but membership management are rude and really only out for one thing - money. If you are considering going here, go to the Fitness First - much nicer and cheaper!

I've been a member here since June 2010 and I really like this gym. Far better than the local Fitness First and more friendly and with better facilities than Virgin Active.

It can be crowded if you go at peak times but I'm normally in there very early or rather late as I don't work nearby so I miss the lunchtime rush. It has great equipment, staff are friendly and helpful, classes are good if booked up very quickly, changing rooms find (and they have GHDs in them!). There could be more showers.

I also really enjoy the pool with the sauna and steam room - just the thing after a hard workout! I have a student discount so it's affordable (just) at about £65 pm, but of course the full £95 pm is a bit steep.

Totally horrible customer service when there is a problem, they charged me 4 times!!!, after a month I am still waiting to get my money back and have no idea when they will. They ignore calls, emails, the right person is never ever there. Also the gym has gone downhill, it's getting dirtier, you get less towels, some of the nice features are now gone.

I completely agree with you! Unfortunately the management of the gym lets it down. Problems take far to long to remedy. Also, people at the reception are very rude. A couple a months ago there have been cold showers for over A week. The problem has existed on and off for over a couple of months. Only after 2 weeks of an intermittent problem were engineers consulted. Apparently the problem is serious enough to warrent new boilers - therefore there will be a long wait. Also, the gym is not air conditioned properly- in fact it was broken last year in july/august and it took 2months to get it sorted. When I asked for a reduction in membership fees to reflect the fact that I was not being provided with the full service I was paying for I was told that the showers hadn't actually been taken away from me, I could still use them and they hadn't deliberately been withdrawn. I think that this misses the point and is shortsighted to say the least. I would not recommend this gym to anyone if customer service is important to you.

Terrible management at both of these gyms!!!! Poor customer service, reception staff do not know what they are doing. I have been a member of the Olympia gym since it opened in 2006 but they are still sending me text messages with requests to join up. They have recently changed the class timetable - it now follows a similar schedule to the Tower Bridge one except Olympia is a residential area and most people work at evenings and weekends. Several attempts to discuss this with the membership manager, operations manager or class scheduler were ignored. Emails to the central email address were ignored. The gym has gone downhill since it opened 4 years ago - join another club, this one has become a Rip Off!!!!!!

Thirtysevendegrees are by far the best gym i've been a member of.

I've been a member for just passing 8 months and although a few hiccups with faulty facilities, which is expected in any fitness club, i have infact noticed a quick turn around with resolving things in comparison to other gyms.

Anyhow it's not like you have to fight for equipment with the variety and amount available.

I’ve found Reception staff to be friendly and helpful especially with the repeated problem of forgetting your member card, ooh and towels are provided, which is a big bonus.

Very popular leisure facility - I've been here a few years now and have benefitted greatly from the classes and facilities.

I've been a member of 37 degrees for over a year. Its the closest gym to my work and therefore its the most convenient. The gym facilities are generally good as are the instructors. Unfortunately the management of the gym lets it down. Problems take far to long to remedy. As other posters on this forum have noted, the issue over broken hairdryers took weeks to sort out with complaints not being taken seriously.

Most recently there have been COLD SHOWERS FOR OVER A WEEK. The problem has existed on and off for over a month. Only after 2 weeks of an intermittent problem were engineers consulted. Apparently the problem is serious enough to warrent new boilers - therefore there will be a long wait. Overall review - nice gym, shame about the customer service - only good as long as nothing goes wrong. If it does, don't expect it to be fixed quickly, or any reasonable compensation offered.
