Titanic Remembered at National Maritime Museum

Titanic exhibition
London is playing host to the Titanic exhibition from 5th November 2010 and the O2 is sure busy with people fascinated by the history of the world's largest ship and its passengers. Bringing the ship back to life 98 years after the ship sank, this exhibition showcases several amazing finds from the wreck, along with never before seen footage from the most recent expedition.

Compelling history
Titanic: the Artefact Exhibition at O2 tells not only the story of the legendary ship but of her passengers too, both those that perished and survived. With personal belongings and parts of the ship brought back from the depths and carefully restored on show, visitors to the Titanic exhibition London event can expect to see some amazing items. Included in the exhibition are samples from a perfume maker who was travelling to New York, official china from the White Star Line, and a pocket watch belonging to a wealthy passenger.

Recreations
To allow visitors to get a feel of what the Titanic was actually like, a major part of the exhibition includes recreations of various parts of the ship. Step on board and get a replica boarding pass of an actual passenger, before before seeing what travel was like for the rich and the not so rich in first and third class cabins, and what life was like below stairs in the cargo hold and boiler room. You can even visit the Memorial Gallery to see whether the person on your boarding card made to the lifeboats in time.

Shipwreck
Sure to be one of the most fascinating parts of the Titanic exhibition London event will no doubt be the chance to see the footage from the most recent expedition to the actual Titanic shipwreck. Captured by RMS Titanic Inc (subsidiary of Premier Exhibitions Inc), which is the only company in the world allowed to recover objects from the wreck, their recent expedition during summer 2010 saw their most ambitious mission yet. This expedition and many like it have enabled the company to map the wreck site and recover many artefacts, including the porthole, ship's wheel and telegraph, all of which are on show at the O2 exhibition.

The Titanic exhibition London event takes place from Friday 5th November 2010 - Saturday 30th July 2011. Opening times are 11am - 7.30pm Sunday - Wednesday, and 11am - 9pm Thursday - Saturday.

Tickets are £13.00 for adults and £9.00 for children Monday - Friday, and £15.00 for adults and £10.00 for children Saturday and Sunday. For more information and to purchase tickets for this event, click on the Buy Tickets button.
