We had the 1 hour Business lunch, at £39.00 including Coffee and Petits Fours and served in an hour, we had the Veal Chop and the Tatin to share for dessert. It was perfect for my business lunch. The food was quick and unobtrusive.
I am going back next week.
My husband and I recently joined Tom Aikens at one of his cookery demonstrations called "Italy and Braising" in the morning and wine tasting in the afternoon.
I have eaten at the restaurant a number of times, so I knew the food was going to be good.
The whole experience was absolutely fantastic and would definitely do this again. The demonstration took place in Tom Aiken's restaurants kitchen which really allows you to experience how skilled one has to be to prepare numerous tasty dishes in such a tight and short space of time.
"Its all in the timing" Aiken's reminds us. The experience is real, raw and intimate. The food was really tasty. He eats with you which makes it very informal and friendly He leaves you with an urgency to go back home and recreate his genius in ones own kitchen!! .
The wine tasting was a brilliant way to end the afternoon. The sommelier was very knowledgeable and the selection of wines were perfect, interesting tastes , served with a variety of canapes.
It is so refreshing to come across a very talented chef who is really passionate about food and cooking, but is also willing to share this talent with normal people like me!! Thank you .
Enjoyed lunch here just before Christmas, having the excellent value lunch menu (£30 for three courses). The quality of the food was exceptional making lunch here was of London's best food bargains.
I must say without a shadow of a doubt, my night at Tom Aikens was the best meal out I have ever had, I found it better than a night at Claridges. In the words of Peter Kay it was "a taste sensation". On my first and only visit to Tom Aikens we ate from the tasting menu which offered seven unbelievable courses all of which were explained in full by our waiter, their wine waiter also had an outstanding knowledge of the French wine on the menu and was able to match each bottle to the course we were eating. The staff is all around you but you don't notice them at all. You need to be prepared to spend some money but for the service and food you would expect to do so. It is not cheap, the tasting menu was £75 per head (on a par with Claridges) and the wine started at about £35 per bottle but, don't let the money put you off. For that special occasion it is well worth it. I would go back to Tom Aikens should I be able to save enough pennies to go.
I recently had lunch at Tom Aikens to celebrate my birthday. The food was delicious - really rich (just how I like it) but you don't have to be rich to eat here!
The dessert in particular hit the spot. I'll definitely go back to Tom Aikens.
