Several teams will be pedalling for glory across eight separate stages throughout the UK, starting with an exciting new route through London.

Cycling in London
London will be centre stage for the final stages of the Tour of Britain race, including a selection of famous landmarks. The streets of London will be transformed into a complete race taking place on Victoria Embankment, Whitehall and Tower Hill, with the cyclists racing past iconic London landmarks including Big Ben and the Tower of London.

Join the crowds
Crowds will be out in force to see the cyclists go for it throughout the streets of London in what is guaranteed to be an exciting session of live racing. Londoners are invited to get in gear and show some support, before seeing the winner crowned champion at the end of the overall event that has seen competitors battle it out in Tour of Britain races around the country.

A day out
Thousands of Londoners will be out to show some support for the cyclists and see who has what it takes to win the Tour of Britain 2009. The final stage starts at 2pm in Whitehall, and will see riders cycle east past Downing Street, along the Victoria Embankment, up Tower Hill and around the Tower of London before finally returning to Whitehall after their gruelling 10 laps around London. Spectators can watch the action from anywhere along the race route in a lively, charged atmosphere. The race is set to finish around 4pm after a 92km slog around the city.
