Free Christmas carol services will be taking place in Trafalgar Square throughout the Christmas season. Enjoy carols in a traditional London Christmas experience this December.

Trafalgar Square Christmas Carols
Christmas carol services at Trafalgar Square will feature a variety of choirs from across London and the Home Counties, leading the crowds in rousing performances of seasonal tunes. Christmas choirs will be performing in one hour slots between 5pm and 9pm from Monday 18th December – Friday 19th December, bringing traditional festive cheer to Trafalgar Square.

Trafalgar Square will be filled with the sound of festive singing during the run up to Christmas, in a series of free Christmas carol events. Last year over fifty different carol groups took part, and this year even more are expected. Visit Trafalgar Square on evenings up until Christmas and join in the fun, singing all the festive classics we know and love in a definitive London event.

VSO Christmas Concert By Candlelight
Last year, Trafalgar Square also hosted a concert in aid of development charity VSO. It showcased the skills of the world renowned City of London Choir and Southern African a capella group U'Zambezi, whilst Fergal Keane and Jonathon Dimbleby took readings. All the money raised went to support the VSO's education programmes across the world.

Christmas carols are part of a programme of festive events taking place at Trafalgar Square. Enjoy carols by the glow of Christmas lights on Trafalgar Square’s famous Christmas tree, donated annually by Norway in an historic, time-honoured event. The Trafalgar Square Christmas tree will feature throughout Christmas and into the New Year, providing a picturesque backdrop for seasonal festivities.

Christmas carols at Trafalgar Square will be taking place on nights throughout Monday 8th December – Friday 19th December 2008, from 5pm – 9pm. Nearest tubes: Charing Cross and Leicester Square. Choirs will be registering to sing throughout the Christmas period. The event is free to attend.
