Yuletide fun
Featuring a great lineup of bands, singers and musicians, Twisted Christmas at Barbican is set to be a night that focuses on the darker side of the Christmas season. With an unashamed need for curiosity, everyone on stage tonight will be picking up the Yuletide traditions of old and having at look at why they came into being and what they really mean.

Twisted Christmas - Bah, humbug!
An ideal night for those well and truly into the Bah Humbug stage by mid December, this show will appeal to anyone who sympathises with Scrooge, or gets sick at the sight of all that glitter and tinsel. Feel like you've already seen one too many pairs of flashing snowman earrings on people in your office? Twisted Christmas at Barbican is the event for you.

Unusual festive tunes
Singers, actors and musicians take you on a dark Christmas journey back into the past, when not everything was so rosy and jolly around this time of year. A delicious dark evening will ensue with a fantastic selection of special guests performing their very own versions of Christmas songs past, present and future.

The lineup
Musicians appearing on the Barbican stage for 2009 include folk sensation Eliza Carthy, Richard Hawley, Ed Harcourt and Polly Scattergood. Other acts include Josephine Foster, Roger Eno, Amiina with Kippi Kaninus and the House of Fairytales.
