A collection of urban art at Andipa Gallery will no doubt be causing fans of street and graffiti art to flock to the gallery over the summer, as the likes of D*Face and Faile exhibit their work to the public. Following from the success of the Banksy exhibition held earlier this year, the exhibition of urban art at Andipa Gallery will bring some of the best global urban art off the street and into the gallery.

With street art very much at the forefront of the modern art scene currently and Banksy seemingly taking over the world with his much flaunted stencil pieces and secret identity, the show of urban art at Andipa Gallery is sure to be even more popular with fans of the genre. Street and urban art has come into its own in recent months, with huge sales being seen at auctions which could never have been predicted even a year ago, so now is the time to see the best of the best in small galleries like Andipa before they end up in enormous institutions all over the world.

An exhibition of street art at Tate Modern is on show until the end of the summer, which features graffiti and urban art that has been painted onto the outside of the gallery walls. Unlike true street art which should always remain on the street for the public to enjoy for free, the pieces on show in the exhibition of urban art at Andipa Gallery are produced on portable mediums like canvas, paper and panels. This means that you can have the vibrant and striking nature of urban art on your living room wall, withouth having to install large and unwieldy pieces of masonry above the mantel piece.

Entitled Trespass Alliance, the urban art at Andipa Gallery is collection of work by the best in contemporary street art. D*Face is a London based street artist who makes his mark on the consumerist society by circulating defaced £10 notes and challening the orthodox thinking of the public. Faile comes from America and is one of the earliest pioneers of the global street art movement who spray their mark on cities all over the world. Also on show are the likes of Nick Georgiou who creates newspaper sculptures, Slinkachu who recreates urban scenes in miniature, and Swoon who makes lifesize prints of everyday people in the street.

Reflecting the current trend for street and graffiti art in the galleries, the collection of urban art at Andipa Gallery is sure to be one of the biggest hits of the summer with contemporary art fans.

Trespass Alliance: Inside Urban Art is on show at Andipa Gallery until Saturday 20th July 2008 and is free to enter.
