Street Art at Royal Albert Hall

Art lovers can feast their eyes on work by Banksy and other leading lights of the street scene at the Urban Art exhibition at Selfridges. On show for just six days before many of the pieces are sold in an urban art auction at Selfridges' Ultralounge, this free exhibition is bound to draw in the crowds.

With key work on dislay by street art bad boy and celebrity darling Banksy, the Urban Art exhibition at Selfridges embraces the fresh, challenging nature of urban street art that has been growing in popularity over the past few years. Urban art may be increasingly accepted and admired by mainstream culture, but the work on show here is still ripe with socio-political satire, so expect to see more than a couple works that stick two fingers up to the establishment and convey a real sense of irreverance and fun.

Rising stars
On show alongside work by Banksy at the Urban Art exhibition at Selfridges are contributions from leading street artists Goldie, Faile, Blek le Rat, Mau Mau and Inkie. Several artists have created new work specially for the Urban Art show and the auction that follows it on the 26th February, so art fans can expect a fresh and original exhibition when they head to the Ultralounge at Selfridges.

The Urban Art exhibition at Selfridges runs from Friday 20th February - Thursday 26th February 2009. Admission is free.
