Traditional fun
Crowds can enjoy traditional and contemporary Asian music with a programme of performances scheduled for the afternoon. Religious hymns will be sung alongside modern tunes from DJs who will make sure there's something for all ages and tastes throughout the afternoon.
Live performances at Vaisakhi on the Square
Trafalgar Square will be bubbling with music and dance to celebrate one of the biggest Sikh events of the year. Traditional and modern music will be playing for all of the crowd to enjoy, at a free, family friendly event.
Traditional celebrations
Vaisakhi on the Square begins with prayers and messages for peace before the music and live entertainment. All visitors are welcome to participate in this traditional Sikh event, promoting friendship, community and mutual respect. At the 2012 event, you can expect plenty of live performances from the likes of H-Dhami and Romy Shay, as well as plenty of DJ sets Bollywood dancing, dhol players and more.
A taste of culture
During the afternoon, crowds at the Vaisakhi festival can enjoy authentic Asian culture in a lively festival atmosphere. Sample authentic Asian food at the market stalls, cheer on the special guest performers from Sunrise Radio and let the kids join in with all the fun at the special children's activities and attractions.
