Take a special Valentines Night Safari at Natural History Museum for an evening of natural romance. Examine the positive and negative sides of love and see just how romance is done in the natural world.

Valentines Night Safari at Natural History Museum
Take a trip around the museum in the dark and get to see behind the scenes with various scientists as they talk about love, romance and the birds and the bees. Visitors get to choose between the Turn Me On tour or the Turn Me Off tour, where they can discover more about both sides of the coin in nature.

Celebrate pleasure
Those who think that Valentines Day is all about the celebration of love and want to indulge their romantic side should head down the path of pleasure on the Valentines Night Safari at Natural History Museum. At the Turn Me On tour you can enjoy the more pleasurable side of love in the natural world, find out which species mate for life, discover why chocolate is ideal for lovers and find the best ingredients for a love potion. You will also get to see a rare selection of objects from the museum's archive and hear fascinating insights into the collection.

Take the pain
If you are more on the bah humbug side of Valentines Day for 2012, then take the Turn Me Off route on the Valentines Night Safari at Natural History Museum. Here you will find out about the pain of love, learn which plants are the most poisonous, see what makes sharks such elegant hunters, and discover which species poke each other with barbed appendages. You will also get to see different specimens from the collection which all demonstrate how pain is rife in the natural world.

Hit the bar
And if all the pleasure/pain gets a bit too much for you, then you can always head to the bar for some respite. Grab yourself a drink or two and spend some time with the museum scientists. The bar is open before the event, half way through and then again at the end of the Valentines Night Safari at Natural History Museum so you can discuss your findings and see whether you took the right route to pleasure or pain for Valentines Day.

The Valentines Night Safari at Natural History Museum takes place from 7pm - 10pm on Tuesday 14th February 2012. Tickets are £25.00 for members and £28.00 for non-members.
