The Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair is here once again as the art loving crowds gather at Old Truman Brewery to see what's in the boot of many an artist's car. If you like art, and you are quite keen on boot fairs, then the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair is the event for you.
Arty stuff for sale
Crammed with artistic oddities and the occassional real peculiarity, the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair is a wonderful day of art making, creating, buying, selling and general indulgence. Hosted by the car makers Vauxhall, who will no doubt have many of their cars being used to flog all kinds of modern art on the day, the boot fair is a chance to get down and dirty in the art world and maybe bring home a stylish bargain or two.
High profile artists
Many famous names will be selling their art works from the back of their boots on the day, with the likes of Tracey Emin, Sir Peter Blake, Gavin Turk, Bob and Roberta Smith, Pam Hogg, Pure Evil and Mat Collishaw all contributing to the fair. Alongside the bigger named artists, you can also expect to see plenty more contemporary artists at the Vauxhall Art Car Boot Fair, such as students from the Royal College of Arts, the Royal Academy and Saint Martins, guaranteeing you art from the absolute cutting edge.
Live entertainment
Alongside all the lovely art that you can rummage through various car boots for, there will be plenty of live entertainment throughout the day too. Renowned for its unusual, eclectic and downright obscure art, the fair will feature the likes of quality entertainment from the Bethnal Green Working Men's Club just down the road.
Food and drink
Also present and correct at the 2012 event will be a range of stalls from which you can buy some delicious food and drink for all; check out the stalls from St John's Bread and Wine and Nude Espresso for starters. Once you've got your energy back, there's also attractions such as the Handbag Disco to enjoy, which features retro '70s tunes and the chance to win a designer handbag worth thousands of pounds.
