Vertical Rush at Tower 42

Get ready to dash up the tallest building in the City of London at the Vertical Rush at Tower 42. A unique sporting event in aid of the vulnerably housed and homeless charity Shelter, the Vertical Rush aims to raise cash for a good cause and test your legs and lungs at the same time.

If you're looking for a new and unusual challenge to test your physical stamina, then the Vertical Rush at Tower 42 might be just the thing for you. The event calls for you to either run or walk up 42 floors - that's 920 stairs and 600 feet!

Fundraising event
The aim of the Vertical Rush at Tower 42 is to raise as much money as possible to support Shelter's nation wide campaigns to help homeless and poorly housed people. You can dash up the tower on your own, or enter the race as a team of up to five people - just make sure you limber up properly so your calf and thigh muscles are fully flexed before you tackle all those stairs.

Champagne reception
The race is chip timed, so you'll have an accurate record of the time it took you to complete the challenge. There will also be a drinks reception waiting for you at Vertigo 42 once you reach the top of the tower.

The Vertical Rush at Tower 42 is on Thursday 1st March 2012. There are time slots available throughout the day. The race costs £35.00 per person to enter, and an individual should aim to raise at least £150.00 in sponsorship as well.
