Great choice on the menu. Lovely staff. Clean and stylish decor. Gorgeous food choices (and we all had something different round the table and agreed we were all winners).
With the 50% off food we got with toptable, it was really reasonable. Without that, it would still have been lovely, but we may only have had one or two courses instead of three and not been so flash with the vino! Highly recommend if you're after somewhere to eat drink and chat with friends. Lovely watermelon mocktails, too.
I love Villandry but then I also love olives and delis! Villandry is a great, in the know bar where I always receive a warm welcome. Plus, their cocktails are delicious!
Every time I visit Villandry, I tell myself to go back more often - the foodstore is fantastic and the shelves are bursting with delicious products you can't find in the supermarket, the staff are knowledgeable and eager to help.
Since my last visit Villandry have smartened up the the charcuterie bar where I love relaxing with a glass of wine and plate of charcuterie. I didn't eat in the restaurant on my last visit but have always found the food to be great value and of a superb quality. I can only push you to try this foodies paradise once and you'll be hooked.
I work near Villandry and it has therefore on a couple of occasions been convenient to eat in their restaurant. On both occasions the food was poor but very highly priced - a salad that tasted like it had had a salt cellar tipped over it and crayfish that were the worst I've eaten in London being a couple of the examples. I have since avoided the restaurant all together but continued to drink in their rather smart and attractively fitted-out bar area. However, on one occasion drinking there, I was recently charged £7.50 for a whisky & ginger! Villandry simply does not have the quality of food, drink or service to justify such prices. My advice to them is to spend as much time on staff training as they do on the design and layout of the attractive surroundings.
Villandry has a really great atmosphere. It has a huge amount of space filled with a bar, restaurant, amazing grocery shop and even a little flower shop. The staff have always been friendly and the clientelle are a real mixture from media and fashion types in the bar to pre-theatre diners and MPs revelling in the exclusivity of the restaurant. Villandy is near the Great Portland Strret tube and is easily accessible from Oxford street, theatre land and Soho.
I've had mixed experiences at Villandry. Sometimes the atmosphere has been relaxed and intimate and other times the place has been full of screaming kids. I do like the black pudding though - I guess Villandry must appeal to my Northern roots.
