Celebrating the British rogue in all his charm and mischief, the vintage films at BFI Southbank tie into Wayne Hemingway's vintage festival at the nearby Southbank Centre.

The British rogue
From the playfully eccentric charlatan to the darkly charismatic villain, the season of vintage films at BFI Southbank celebrate the great British rogue in all his forms. Highlights of the season include the classic Ealing comedy Kind Hearts and Coronets, starring Alec Guinness as eight members of the D'Ascoyne family, as well as The Damned, starring Oliver Reed as teddy boy gang leader King.

Bad Girls on the Bus
As well as the vintage films at BFI Southbank that explore the characteristics of the British rogue, the BFI is also celebrating his female counterpart during the vintage festival with screenings on board a converted 1960s bus. The '60s bus is located between BFI Southbank and the National Theatre, and features criminally minded women as portrayed by actresses such as Miranda Richardson and Diana Dors.

Avengers
Also taking place as part of the vintage films at BFI Southbank offering is a non stop marathon of The Avengers, starring Diana Rigg as Emma Peel. The screenings take place in a specially decorated '60s screening room and are free to attend. Priority will be given to BFI members and vintage festival wristband wearers.
