Waterloo Carnival 2011

Get ready for a colourful and musical day at the Waterloo Carnival 2011 as Lower Marsh adopts a science party theme for a day of fun for kids and family.

Musical laboratory
The 8th annual Waterloo Carnival is set to be the biggest celebration yet. Taking place at Lower Marsh and Millennium Green, Waterloo will be turning into a bubbling science laboratory for this year’s carnival procession.

Grand parade
Robots, Einsteins and other representations of the world of popular science will join together in harmony for one day at the Waterloo Carnival 2011 festivities, which include the renowned street procession and live music. Families can make the most of the musical laboratory zone at the eastern end of Lower Marsh, which features a music stage and DJ sets outside Cubana.

Family zone
Kids and family will also be delighted with the family friendly zone at Millennium Green, which includes an Einstein a go-go children's disco where your little ones can really let loose. Kids can even download carnival masks and costume kits before the event so they really look the part.

Carnival procession
The carnival procession kicks off at around 1.30pm with over 300 performers, travelling along the length of Lower Marsh, down Westminster Bridge Road and Baylis Road, finishing on Millennium Green. This is your chance to see all the colourful characters as they make their way down to the Waterloo Carnival.

Events for kids
Kids will have a brilliant time at the Waterloo Carnival 2011, where they can dress up as a mad scientist, courageous cosmonaut or even a cute robot and make their presence felt in the family friendly zone on Millennium Green. And for the adults, Cubana and Walrus Social are the locations for music, dancing and cabaret in the evening.

Waterloo Carnival 2011 takes place from 12pm - 9pm, Friday 15th July 2011 on and around Lower Marsh.
