West London Literary Festival

Part of the Ealing Summer Festival, the West London Literary Festival returns for 2008 after its fantastic debut last year. With plenty of author events, storytelling sessions, and poetry recitals in store, there is even more going on at the West London Literary Festival for the book lovers of London.

Always thought that literary festivals were dry, stuffy events, full of old ladies and aspiring sci fi novelists? Think again. The West London Literary Festival takes a fresh and vibrant look at novels, spoken word, poetry and all sorts of linguistic fun for all the family, making it one of the most enjoyable parts of the festival season in Ealing.

Enjoy readings, feel inspired, take part in workshops, hear amazing new authors and discuss your favourite works as the two day festival invites you to celebrate all manner of things literary. Catch Melissa Benn as she performs a reading, takes part in a Q&A and signs copies of her work, or take part in a writing group with Kate Buchanan and Readings from Off the Page.

More famous authors will be joining in the fun of the West London Literary Festival with the Poet Laureate Andrew Motion reading some of his works, and kids author Francesca Beard taking part in the children's storytelling sessions. And kids needn't feel left out over the weekend as more event take place for them than ever before, with readings, Q&As, Chinese dance workshops, and poetry sessions.

Simply crammed full of exciting, inspiring and intriguing events, the West London Literary Festival takes place on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th September and is free to attend.
