15th April - 4th May 2009

Where

Across London

Fans of speciality beer can raise their glasses and sample some award winning drinks at the annual Wetherspoons International Real Ale Festival. Held at Wetherspoons pubs in London and across the UK, the real ale festival features home grown beauties from across Britain, as well as outstanding examples from around the world.

Wetherspoons International Real Ale Festival
With brewers from New Zealand, Canada, Australia, Finland the USA and Holland coming to the UK to take part in the 2009 Wetherspoons Real Ale Festival, there's plenty of unique and unusual flavours for beer lovers to sample. Visitors to Wetherspoons during the festival will be able to try any three of the real ales in special third of a pint glasses for the cost of one pint, which means you'll be able to work your tastebuds round an amazing array of different ales without drinking yourself under the table.

British beers
Flying the flag for home grown beers at the Wetherspoons International Real Ale Festival will be breweries from Cornwall to the Scottish Highlands. London will be proudly represented by Meantime Brewery, who have brewed a special London Pale Ale just for the festival.

CAMRA
The Wetherspoons real ale festival is supported by the Campaign for Real Ale, CAMRA, and features a number of award winning ales to tempt drinkers to try something a little bit different. If you want to refine your taste in real ale, then celebrated tipples such as Brains Dark from Cardiff, St Peter's Golden Ale from Suffolk, and Nethergate Umbel Magna from Essex are a great place to start.

Speciality brews
Also on offer at the festival are a number of speciality ales with surprising and unusual flavours. Try the Flying Dutchman wit Bier from the Netherlands for an ale with the spicy and fuity bite of coriander and orange peel, or a glass of Barons Bush Berry Porter from Australia, which is brewed using oatmeal for a silky, smooth texture.

The Wetherspoons International Real Ale Festival runs from Wednesday 15th April - Monday 4th May 2009 at Wetherspoons pubs in London and across the UK.
