Worlds Best Wines at Wonder Bar

During October you can sample the worlds best wines at Wonder Bar, Selfridges, as the Decanter World Wine Awards trophy tasting event takes place. With exclusive access to over 50 of the worlds best wines, this is the place to come for a quality tipple or two.

The trophy award winning wines come from the most influential wine competition in the world, and these selected bottles represent the absolute best of the best, out of a total 9,219 wines which were entered into the competition. This is the first time that the Decanter Trophy Tasting event has taken place, and with the Wonder Bar also celebrating its first birthday, there is double reason to celebrate. Whether you are a dedicated wine expert or just a novice who likes a bit of plonk, the chance to taste the worlds best wines at Wonder Bar is not to be sniffed at.

From Friday 10th to Sunday 19th October, visitors to Selfridges can try out the exceptional wine from a state of the art machine that allows you to serve yourself wine by the glass. Simply by buying Wonder Bar cards, wine lovers will be able to taste the worlds best wines at Wonder Bar and enjoy the Decanter award winners in the comfort of the stylish bar. So grab a mate or two, buy your cards and get drinking to see if you agree with the judges placements.

Judges in the competition are only allowed onto the panel when they have an intimate knowledge of the wine region they are tasting within and then each wine is tasted totally blind. With a reputation the world over for the being the ultimate in wine terroir competitions, (terroir meaning the climate, soil, weather and geology that affects the growing of a vine) the Decanter Awards this year saw 50 expert judges flown in from abroad to give their opinions on the worlds best wines. Wonder Bar is now the exclusive location where you can get your hands on their winners.

Decanter Trophy Tasting takes place in Selfridges from Friday 10th to Friday 17th October and you can try the the worlds best wines at Wonder Bar for £10.00 for 10 samples of wine for £20.00 or under, or 5 samples of wine of £20.00 or over.

The cards can be purchased and topped up at the Wonder Bar in multiples of £10.00, or you can book Wonder Bar cards in advance by 30th September by phoning 020 3148 4513 for more information.
