Winter Sports at Trafalgar Square

Celebrate the start of the Winter Games in Vancouver, Richmond and Whistler with a series of free virtual winter sports at Trafalgar Square.

Vancouver in the Square
Adding to the ever increasing Olympic fever which will eventually culminate in the 2012 Summer Games in London, the winter sports at Trafalgar Square take place at the beginning of the two week games in Canada. A giant outdoors screen will broadcast the highlights from the opening ceremony of the games, so you can watch all the parades and performances and experience the exciting atmosphere.

Virtual games
If you're a dab hand at computer games and want to show off your skills to an audience bigger than just your immediate family, then come along and take part in all of the winter sports at Trafalgar Square. Ten gaming pods will be set up in the square, where you can play on the Wii or Xbox 360 games consoles and show how good you are at downhill slalom skiiing, snowboarding, bobsleighing and other interactive winter sports.

Ice sculpture
The most skilled players of the virtual winter sports at Trafalgar Square will be invited to compete against each other by members of the SEGA team so that their games can be shown on the giant outdoors screen for the crowd. As well as all the computer games, there will also be a four metre high ice sculpture of the Olympic rings in the square.

The virtual winter sports at Trafalgar Square take place from 10am - 6pm, Saturday 13th February 2010. The events are free to attend.
