Monday 1st December is World AIDS Day 2008, and loads of charity events are going on all throughout London. According to the HPA, 42 percent of all people in the UK that were diagnosed with HIV were in London. These World AIDS Day London events will help raise awareness about the disease.
Discotec World AIDS Day PartyThe End nightclub will play host to a special party event from Discotec as funds are raised at what looks set to be a fantastic charity party night. For just £10.00, half of which goes to the Terrance Higgins Trust, you can get your dancing feet down from 9pm at one of the best clubs in London, listening to a host of different DJs keeping things funky. The party takes place from 9pm on Sunday 30th November 2008.
Discotec World AIDS Day PartyWorld AIDS Day London DiscussionThe Victoria and Albert Museum will be holding a lunchtime discussion of AIDS and the effects of the disease of millions of different people. So if you'd like a civilised and intriguing way of raising awareness, head down to the V&A and show your support. The discussion takes place at 1pm on Monday 1st December 2008.
World AIDS Day at Victoria and Albert MuseumAnnie Leibovitz (RED) RoomOpening on Thursday 27th November just in time for World AIDS Day 2008, the National Portrait Gallery is extending their Annie Leibovitz exhibition to include a room full of images taken to promote the (RED) AIDS awareness charity set up by Bono. A portion of all sales from the opening night go towards helping the fight against AIDS in Africa. The (RED) Room is free from Friday 28th November - Thursday 4th December 2008.

Umkoshi means Celebration in Zulu, and everyone at The Abbey will be celebrating their power to do some good on the night with DJs and entertainment for all.
