Wednesday 1st December is World AIDS Day 2010, and loads of charity events are going on all throughout London. According to the Health Protection Agency, 42 percent of all people in the UK that were diagnosed with HIV are in London. These World AIDS Day London events will help raise awareness about the disease.
Christmas School Disco
Popular gay nightclub Shadow Lounge is hosting a massive fundraiser to benefit the HIV and AIDS charity The Terence Higgins Trust on Sunday 5th December. The club is going all out with the School Disco theme, so dig out your old school tie and prepare to cut some serious rug on the dance floor. Tickets cost £8.00 - £10.00, With VIP tickets available for £20.00.

18 hour busk for World AIDS Day
London underground stations have long been a popular haunt for buskers, but for World AIDS Day Southwark station is hosting a gig with a difference. X Factor finalists Belle Amie and Diva Fever will be singing as part of an 18 hour busk, alongside cast members from popular West End shows and Danielle Hope, the winner from Over the Rainbow. The busk takes place from 6am - midnight on Wednesday 1st December.

Rankin exhibition
Taking place from 29th November - 10th December, the special Rankin exhibition for World AIDS Day 2010 features photographs of Londons living with HIV and AIDS. The exhibition is held at City Hall, and is free to attend.

Bootcamp Club Night
The weekly gay men's club night Bootcamp is taking up residency once again at Eagle London. As usual, all proceeds from the door will be donated to The Eddie Surman Trust and Positiveline, the national helpline for anyone concerned with the issues surrounding HIV and AIDS. The Bootcamp night for in aid of World Aids Day London runs from 9pm - 2am on Tuesday 30th November.

Fire fundraiser
Another LGBT night that will be doing its bit to raise funds for charity around World AIDS Day, Orange at Fire takes place from 11pm - 9am, Sunday 5th December. Join host Glendora for a night full of DJ sets including Fat Tony and Tonnic, The Sharp Boys and David Jimenez. Tickets cost £6.00 - £13.00, with money from each ticket being donated to the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

Lo-Profile
Popular Soho venue Lo Profile is holding a special event by GaydarRadio, starring dance diva Katherine Ellis and DJ partnership The Freemasons. Tickets cost £10.00, with all proceeds going to the National AIDS Trust. The Put It On event takes place from 9pm, Wednesday 1st December.
