14th World Book Day
Thursday 3rd March 2011 marks the 14th World Book Day and there’s no doubt that the events have reached countless amounts of people. With any luck it’ll be around for many years to come, with free books, book slams, author signings and much more to look forward to.

World Book Day London events
This year’s events include things to do for kids and adults too. One of the highlights this year is the World Book Night giveaway on Saturday 5th March, which sees a million free books given away. To launch World Book Night, there's a special launch event taking place at Trafalgar Square on Friday 4th March, starring Graham Norton, Margaret Atwood, Alan Bennett and Nick Cave.

Special World Book Day £1.00 book tokens will be given out to every primary school child at schools in London and across the UK. Kids will be able to redeem their tokens for one of the six books created just for World Book Day by bestselling authors like Philip Reeve, Chris Priestley and Michael Lawrence. There's also special editions of Dr. Seuss and Winnie the Pooh for young readers to enjoy.
