The Londoner's Guide to London
A highly anticipated Yoko Ono exhibition London event takes place over the summer of 2012 at the Serpentine Gallery as the world famous artist brings her work to the UK in an unprecendented show.
London 2012 Festival
Having worked as an artist for over five decades, it's no surprise that the Serpentine Gallery show is highly anticipated. Having influenced generations of artists and musicians with her prolific career, you can see a variety of her conceptual art in the Yoko Ono exhibition. London 2012 is certain to be hugely popular with lovers of all kinds of cultural activities, and this show is no exception.
Yoko Ono exhibition
London is hosting many blockbuster exhibitions during the 2012 Cultural Olympiad, including the likes of Damien Hirst, David Hockney and Lucien Freud, and joining the illustrious list is Yoko Ono with an exhibition at London's Serpentine Gallery. Showcasing films, installations, performances and alterations to the gallery's architecture, the exhibition is set to be a highlight.
World renowned artist
Bringing together a vast array of artworks, the as yet untitled exhibition is set to have art fans eager to see the show, given that the first time many pieces will go on show in the UK, is at the Serpentine Yoko Ono exhibition. London art lovers are able to see works which demonstrate her involvement in art, music, film, and performance, highlighting her multi-skilled avant garde style oeuvre.
A major part of the Yoko Ono exhibition is set to be the Smile project which is a large scale piece of art set to feature across the globe and on the internet. Taking portraits of individuals and groups from around the world, the installation was conceived as a way of connecting people, virtually. The project invites people to upload and send their own smile images to the gallery, to create an enormous collection of portraits.
The Yoko Ono exhibition London event takes place from Tuesday 19th June - Sunday 9th September 2012 at Serpentine Gallery.
