You Are Being Served Again at Selfridges

Recreating the hallowed halls of Grace Brothers for a celebrity charity sale with a difference, You Are Being Served Again at Selfridges celebrates the memory of the late Wendy Richard.

Wendy Richard's showbusiness friends will be out in force for You Are Being Served Again at Selfridges and selling the late star's designer wardrobe. Eastenders actress Natalie Cassidy, June Brown and Nicholas Smith, who played Mr Rumbold in Are You Being Served? are all manning the stalls at the charity fashion sale.

Designer fashion
An avid shopper throughout her life, Wendy Richard was a huge fan of Selfridges and collected hundreds of designer outfits and accessories from the famous department store. Amongst the designer fashion up for sale at the You Are Being Served Again at Selfridges event are pieces from Chanel, YSL and Gucci, so fashionistas will want to get in early for the chance to bag the best bargains.

Comic gem
The Selfridges event takes its inspiration from the much loved vintage sit-com Are You Being Served?, which starred Wendy Richard as the sexy Miss Brahms alongside Nicholas Smith, Mollie Sugden and John Inman. Full of double entendres, puns and memorable catchphrases, the television series was set in the fictional Grace Brothers department store.

Charity sale
Giving the stylish Oxford Street store a retro makeover for one day only, Are You Being Served Again at Selfridges is raising money for the Lady Taverners charity, which helps young people with special needs. Designer clothes, shoes and bags are all up for sale at the event as a special treat for fashion hungry shoppers.

You Are Being Served Again at Selfridges runs from 9.30am - 1pm, Tuesday 19th January 2010. The sale takes place at the Exhibition Hall on the Third Floor.
